ABOUT ME
My name is Montse Rubio and I am an
illustrator of Barcelona.
Since I was very small I loved drawing,
painting and making handicrafts but it was not until 2001 when I
decided, with my portfolio of drawings under my arm and my head full
of dreams, to study illustration at the School of Art of La Llotja in
Barcelona .
There I discovered watercolor, one of
my great passions and little by little my enthusiasm for illustration
and fantasy grew.
For more than 15 years she has worked
as a freelance illustrator for publishers, public institutions and
individuals.
And I hope, for many years, to continue
illustrating dreams and imaginary worlds!

- Triptych on autochthonous vegetation
of "els Aigüamolls de l'Empordà ", for the Generalitat de
Catalunya.
- Participation with two watercolors on
comparative anatomy at the Museum of Human Evolution in Burgos. Both
watercolors are in permanent exhibition in the building.
Contests and recognitions
- Finalist in the Ilustraciència
contest organized by the Museum of the Science of Barcelona. As a
result of this contest, I participated in group exhibitions on
naturalistic illustration in several museums in Spain. (2015).
- Since 2012 I am included in the
catalog of the Spanish National Library with the book Compendio de
Herbas Máxicas, for its dissemination and contribution in the
Galician language.
